On Lattimore vs. Fagles

With regards to Lattimore vs. Fagles, Lattimore is just fine. I like that the Lattimore translation has the same number of lines as the original (whereas Fagles is some percent bigger than the original). Fagles is still good though.

I have read Fagles’s Odyssey and am in the middle of reading Lattimore’s Iliad.

If you want something with greater fidelity to the original, go with Lattimore. If you are reading for entertainment, go with Fagles.
